Hi, all. While our host, Diane, is out doing her first LD ride in Kansas, I am sitting at my computer listening to the wind and the rain against the windows. I don’t think it will stick around long. It’s predicted to be hot and in the high 90’s today here in Nebraska. We have our first cutting of hay rolled already and hoping to get more down later this week. The rain is welcome. I just got back from a trip to South Dakota with some friends, including Distance Derby competitor Kathy of Team 50 Zuni. We had great weather and good rides. I’ve been slowly getting blog updates done about our trip on Horsetrailriders.com.
Diane and I very much want to commemorate the year with a new design of tee shirts and sweatshirts. Admittedly, we both kind of dropped the ball on it just for lack of time. But we are back on it again. I am going to use the vendor that I used for our Expo shirts and know he will do a great job. We will show you what it will look like before you order. I hope to get my request sent to the designer this weekend and perhaps will have proofs back next week. He is always curious about quantity, so it would be helpful if you would take the poll at the top of the right sidebar so I have an idea of the interest so I can help him project quantities. Prices will probably be in the $15-$25 range, hoodies a bit more. I’ll probably only do hoodies ten or more are interested. They can get pricy. You aren’t committing by doing the poll, but expressing a high interest.
In the meantime, Distance Derby “competitor” bumper stickers are still available. They are last year’s design but don’t show the year, so they will work for this year, too. I have one on each of my trailers. You can order them direct from Zazzle by following this link: http://www.zazzle.com/distance_derby_bumper_stickers-128781451039360889. They are a bit spendy but that’s what you get with print on demand.
I am excited to see the miles rolling in for the Distance Derby from such enthusiastic riders! I get your posts in a feed and read them on my phone and wish I had time to comment on them all! I sometimes have to go back to your bios because I find myself wondering “just where is that?” You have all taken my on some beautiful virtual rides.

ReplyDeleteYou have put together a fun 'competition', Tammy and Diane has done a great job keeping it going this year! Thanks for all you two do!!
ReplyDeleteHad a thought - shows always have age divisions... how terrible would it be having a group or two sectioned off? Was mainly thinking of the kids that are competing. Maybe an 'under 18 group'? :-)
Most likely at year end, we can see who we have left for Juniors and do some sort of recognition. Might consider a separate class next year. Good suggestion. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the t-shirts etc.! Can't wait to read the posts on your SD trip too!
ReplyDeleteI am in for TShirts!
ReplyDeleteTammy, I just checked the Zazzle site and they are having a sale through Thursday, July 4,and the bumper stickers are 75 cents off. You have to put the discount code in that is easy to find on the site.
