I heard about the Derby through Juanita while I lived in Omaha and boarded with her. I am excited to enter Savannah (my half mustang) and I in this year's competition. If you are in the area; let me know! Looking forward to riding "with" all of you, swapping stories, and meeting some of you as well.
Cheers for the new year.
Kally

Brrrrr.
I voted to cook today. Wind chill is hardly above 10. Last I checked it was 3.
Class starts tomorrow.
My first goal was to keep up with Juanita. My second goal was to be in the top 10. Now...my goal is to log 1000 miles in one year. That seems to be the best fit. For more thoughts and articles see my blog at SnKthoughts2013.blogspot.com
or just click my name next to my post...the S':nK mess that shows up next to where I post. Either will get you there.
Yes, my goals change along the way, too. I am a bit A D D when it comes to riding. So much to do so little time!
DeleteOk, not bad we will take that, lol

Sigh...I decided to study airway management this last weekend instead of riding. Guess that's for the best since I've been borderline sick.
ReplyDeleteOk, we have been sick most of the month at this house, but next month kick it up. We really miss you here.
ReplyDeleteOh, no! Another of Juanita's friends! Hang on! You are in for a ride! :) Welcome!
ReplyDeleteKally, up your nose with a garden hose, only medical folks will find that funny
ReplyDeleteOk, now that I've busted up laughing Juanita...I want you to know that I not only shove things up people's noses I get to play with stretchers and then test over all this stuff. So, I've come back up for air and rode.

I have been busy Kally and not paying attention, spring is coming and you and that mustang will cover tons of ground.
ReplyDeleteWhew, for those of you that keep track of me I'm officially finished with my EMT. I have been riding but got sloppy with tracking miles.
ReplyDelete6.29.13
12 miles!
Hopefully you see more of me now that things are drying out and I have some free time...HA!
Well, it is about time and I know you are so sorry you missed South Dakota. We will give it a try next year. I don't need a map.
ReplyDeleteJust rub it in Ms. GPS. Just rub it in.
ReplyDeleteI'd have more miles if I'd remember to take my GPS with me. Oh...and turn it on.

Hooray! Finally made it past the 100mile mark. Yay me!
On July 18 I rode at Clinton Park outside of Lawrence, KS. The trails and facilities are top notch. I would have gone farther but 6 or so miles of wearing 100+ spider webs got old fast.
Congrats on getting over 100 miles :-)

I ended up underneath a tree with a line of thorn vines...across the back of my neck. I've never been to an urgent care before. Guess there is a first time for everything. I didn't have anyone else around to help me pull them out.
Health car folks are not suppose to be in urgent care, dumb bell. How did this happen and where.

I didn't have internet so these stacked up.
While I was in Arkansas I took the longest loop they had marked out in the Arkansas National Forest outside of New Blaine. That was the 25 miles followed by it getting dark, not making it back to camp, and sleeping under saddle blankets in the Ozarks. I'm glad it only got down to 40 or so. I was moving by first light to get back to camp. Still took another 12 miles. All my "toys": phone, GPS etc were dead. So that was sheer navigation on unknown territory. What a way to meet people in camp that week. I was the "lost girl".
OMG! You are one brave lady! Sleeping out in the Ozarks by yourself???
DeleteOh, trust me...it was for sure an accident. I'd called down to camp but they couldn't find me on the four wheelers. So I just waited for day light. It was too dark to ride on out.
DeleteAre you kidding me. I just read this, remind me not to let you be the leader. Call me this week and tell me about this.
