It was pretty out. The sun shone and sparkled all the little diamond prisms in the snow. No wind for once; but temperatures just hitting 2o degrees made the 1.25 hours of riding enough. Kept it to a walk it was slick underneath all that snow.

More driving! this time was a combo of the new harness and putting her collar & hames on from the old harness. like this combo the best. i think. Had a little bit of drama and airs above the ground as we started off--yee haw in cart---- but it was probably a good thing as 1) she realized whatever spooked or upset her didn't really hurt her 2)she had to get stopped when I asked and 3) she didn't break out of harness all things a mule needs to know. Guess Gaitor used up all the good today :-)

Warmer but the wind is fierce again today. Again used her collar & hames with the rest of the other harness. Finally getting it fitted, added rein snaps for ease, and added a cute forehead dangle that is supposed to be for mules, adjusted the britchen and wrapped it three times. Had a couple of over 10 mph trots. It just amazes me the little mule can trot that big.

Another fine brisk morning drive. The little mule made it up to a 11.5 mph trot. She's going to be amazing! I am so proud of this brave smart little mule who wasn't even halter broke when we got her. I do have to admit it is weird as we are trotting down the road to have my dog lope past us and the dog is nearly as big as the mule.

Perfect riding weather tonight. I rode in a long sleeve t-shirt and there was enough breeze I didn't get hot and it kept most mosquitoes off. Wonka didn't really want to leave the house tonight when we started, but I think that had more to do with it was his normal supper time than any real protest about going riding. AJ sure is getting in shape again.

I may not make the millenium club this year, but don't leave me out of the Ate Dirt Awards. Willy & I were arguing about how close he was going to walk to the half dried upright corn stalks when he swung his hind quarters into them and spooked himself. After a few good bucks I met the ground. No scratches or pains, will have to see how I feel tomorrow. Got back on and finished the ride with lots of trotting in collection.
