I am Sharron Ankersen from Colon, which is about 30 miles west of Omaha, Nebraska. I have had horses since I was 8 years old.
This will be my first year recording mileage. I have been keeping track of my hours though for 4 or 5 years. I have one horse named Boomer, a registered paint.
I am semi-retired and besides riding, love working with 4-H’ers in the horse and dog projects. Also love doing scrapbooking, quilting and traveling.
I enjoy camping and trail riding every weekend April through October with many special friends.
.
Good looking head on that horse.

ReplyDeletePre-CGW and CowGirlWeekend are now over. It has been a terrific week of spending time with my wonderful horse and fantastic friends. The scenery was spectacular. The things you see on a horse are so much more than anyone else can imagine. I rode 62.69 miles and 26.25 hours. Just got home at 4:30 Sunday evening and already thinking of leaving with a different friend on Thursday again.
ReplyDeleteAnother weekend of riding in the books. Went to Willow Creek by Pierce. Did not go to the famous car auction but talked to people that did. I rode 34.04 miles in 10 1/4 hours. After my friends left Saturday morning I pushed the riding trying to get Boomer in shape IF we do the CTR at Indian Cave.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting over 400 miles! Too awesome that you are thinking of doing the Indian Cave CTR. It is the 40th anniversary ride!
ReplyDeleteRode 2.47 miles in the fields today. Again alot of trotting and loping to get us both in shape. Flatland riding does not compare though to the hills at Indian Cave. It is still good for us to get out during week. Off to work now.
ReplyDeleteRode in my yard working on obstacles for CTR on Oct 8. Only amounted to .29 miles but it was still on a horse. Oct 9 rode fields for 2.44 miles. Lots of trotting and cantering and just a little bit of obstacles in yard. If he did item good the first time he got his treat and that was it. Was a good boy last night.
ReplyDeleteHe is always a good boy :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! He was perfect for the CTR except for his capillary refill. Need to find how to prevent loss of points for that in Kansas. Was so much more fun than I was anticipating.
