Team 39 - DOR

DOR

My name is Syndi and I live in Grandview Washington.  I own several horses, some that are retired.  I ride my horse, Cactus Jack Splash, most of the time now that he has recovered from a catastrophic injury.

I started riding when I was 3 years old, I am 53 now.  My horsemanship is a constant work in progress.  I have many teachers to help me besides Jack; Sir Darby, The Mighty Q, and Bohannan's Rhapsody.  I am looking forward to many great horse adventures with new and old friends.

Thanks for including Team DOR.

  1. Syndi, I am LOL reading Cactus Jack Splash's blog! But I don't think I will let Logen read it. It has the "T" word all over it and she thinks I'm stingy with treats and I share them with the old fellas at the barn (shh....) Artful Path #103

  3. Well Jack is right, I am truly a DOR! I started posting miles on the old board and noticed nothing was changing. Luckily the event manager located me in cyberspace and directed me to the right place. So I am starting from scratch this week. Jack informed me that he was NOT working any extra to make up for my stupidity-so there!
I rode 10 miles in the arena on the 2nd and 5 more on the 3rd helping a friend work on her drill team routine. I like arena miles they are easy to figure out, but Jack would rather be on the trail climbing mountains or moving cows.
We did another 5 miles on the 4th. We are working getting legged up for a cowboy dressage clinic the middle of this month.
Jack may not be willing to help make up for my mistake, but he is working hard to get ready to show off.
Happy miles to all of you!

  6. Thank you for doing that Tammy.
Well today Boogie and I made 5 miles in the arena. We worked on an entry level dressage pattern in hopes that we won't look too silly next weekend at the cowboy dressage clinic. Tomorrow we will be working with our friend on her drill routine.

  9. The 14th Jack and I rode 15 miles getting ready for our two day clinic. We rode another 5 today. I think we are both in good enough shape to not get too sore or tired working for the next two days.

  11. Friday 3/29/13 rode 2.3 miles with a couple that I was counseling on horseback, amazing how horses help with people who are having a hard time communicating.
Yesterday rode 3.2 miles on Jack while we worked on cowboy dressage.

  12. Busy month without much horse time...
Todaywas the first day that I had plenty of time to ride. I rode the icelandic, Tahkoe, first. Boy can she cover ground with her tolt, she did 11.2 miles in the arena without breaking a sweat or slowing down. I rode my husbands little filly for only .5 miles, just to get her ready for him to ride.

  13. Got to go to Sun Mountain and help wrangle rides. The weather was great. I rode a horse named Raven to help get her ready for guests. We covered 12.4 miles on Saturday and 9.3 on Sunday leading guests through the routes. Raven is like the engergizer bunny and loves the trails

15 miles total for a weekend of rest isn't too bad.
