Team 12 - Bailey*

My name is Kay Bailey and I live in Iowa near Tabor.  I have four Arabians, three adults which I ride and a coming two year old gelding.  They are Tino, aka Tarantino SPA, V aka Venesza, Pris aka FM Pristine.  DotZero rounds out my foursome.  Hopefully I will be able to make a trip to the Black Hills this summer, which will give me more incentive to ride to get ready for those Hills.

This is my second year in the Derby, and it has inspired me to get out and ride much more than I have in years.

  8. 1/26/12 8.04 miles riding Tino. Usually a 2.1 mph ride, he put in a 3.0. I might need to rename him from 2.1 to 3.0. lol A beautiful day, but cold when the wind was blowing.

Road riding because all that rain is frozen under the grass. Just a little ride on Pris with her new swayback pad. Judging by the sweat lines it stopped the bridging and was good for her. The only problem was it lifted my saddle up and I could barely reach the stirrup to get on board. lol Cold out there, but soo good to ride.

Hit the dirt when he spotted a pet pig running around their front yard. He sure was cute, running all about checking things out. I was hoping Tino would think it was a strange looking dog. lol. Not so lucky, when he spooked he dropped and spun around. I got back on and finished the ride. Old 2.1 managed 2.4 mph today.

  14. Last chance to ride before the STORM, lol. I purchased a new Thin line saddle pad and just had to try it out. Saddling up, V at first was giving me the evil look in her eye when I put the pads on her back. Then the saddle was lifted up onto her, and adjustments made. She stood there quietly. When I started to cinch her up, she stood quietly. WOW. Usually she is moving around a bit. When we went out on the ride she was relaxed and just wonderful the whole time. We came back, cold but happy.
